Summer Picnic

June 18, 2024

There are three categories of winners for this week's game: Random drawing, funniest answer, and favorite answer.

The total prize amount for the week is $1,000.

The cumulative number of submitters from the three winners' groups was 40, so each person takes home $25.00.

Random Drawing

The winner of the random drawing is Vernon R. of ALICE Receptionist!

Vernon was one of seven members of the ALICE Receptionist group to submit a quiz this week.

All 7 players win a prize!

Funniest Wrong Answer

The funniest wrong answer belonged to Ted M. of Notre Dame Mission Volunteers.

The question was "As a dessert it refers to fruit filling poured into a dish and covered with batter prior to baking. As a profession, it’s the person you take your Manolo Blahniks to when they need a repair. What’s the common word?"

And Ted's answer was "Shoefly Pie."

So....the dessert is actually spelled "Shoo-fly Pie," but Ted that was hilarious. We love the idea of a footwear repair person being called a "Shoe Fly."

Ted was one of nine members of the Notre Dame Mission Volunteers group to submit a quiz this week.

All 9 players win a prize!

Favorite Answer

Our team's favorite answer came from Derrek H. of County of York 1.

The question was "Raisins, peanuts, oats, and granola are the four ingredients who lend their initials to what Americanized acronym for trail mix enjoyed by campers and hikers every summer?"

And Derrek's answer was "My guess is "GORP." Porg is Star Wars, Prog is music, and nothing else sounds right."

Derrek, bravo my friend! Your reasoning is exactly why we phrased the question the way we did. We agree that it should have been one that you could reason your way through.

Derrek was one of twenty-four members of the County of York 1 group to submit a quiz this week.

All 24 players win a prize!
